You could always keep it simple
Lvl 1 = 1 extra defence or attack dice Lvl 2 = 2 extra defence or attack dice or 1 of each Lvl 3 = 3 extra........
You get the picture, this should keep it simple no need for upgrade cards that some people won't have and better defence and attack could account for the pilots extra skill and experience!

In that case (Aces' benefits are NOT cumulative):
Squadron Leader - 1 re-roll on attack & defence (included SL so there's a bit of a target for opposing sides, will expand upon later) and Critical Damage = Normal Damage (unless special rules flip damage cards face-up) Junior Ace - Pilot Skill bonus (+1) Senior Ace - Pilot Skill bonus (+2) & EITHER an extra attack dice or extra defence dice (choose at start of combat) Veteran Ace - Pilot Skill bonus (+3) & BOTH an extra attack dice & extra defence dice
Will note down and put up on the sign up thread just to see how many want to go for this. Only a bit for added challenge of sorts... =_=

Would you guys rather it was unlimited game length to force victories/defeats or have a limited game length and a points system to determine result?
