Two things:
1) Do UA's get the benefits of the unit they're with (unless otherwise stated)?
2) What do people think about the journeymen warcasters?
-_-

1, yes, yes they do. 2, they should be banded! that is all.

Ok, bit more of an answer,
Unit attachments become part of the unit and get all of the bonuses. That’s the difference between unit attachments and solos with the same name. i.e. the Exemplar Errant Seneschal does not get Purity bonus of the Exemplar Errant unit.
As for Journeymen… well up until recently only Cygnar had one and most people just used him to cast arcane shield on the warcaster and then spend the rest of the game with him (or her depending on which model you have) on the back table edge upkeeping it. Some used him as a hunter, with a pretty good combat potential and 3 Focus he could take out a good solo or finish off a caster. Not many people gave him a Jack (which is the idea for them) as some of the other jack marshals are better. Now with each faction getting its own journeyman they have given each of them a spell that affects Jacks in their battlegroup, it seems they are trying to get you to use them as they are meant to be as it’s a waste if you don’t. Now it’s all about which Jacks do you give them???

Ah... fair enough...
Wait, does that mean that solos can run around with units? o.O Or are they always considered separate entities with distinct activations and never seen as being 'in formation'?
I'm rather 'meh' about the journeymen, honestly... just wondered what other folks thought about them. Their stats aren't especially impressive (sixes or worse across the board and DEF/ARM which is usually moderate at best...) and any offensive spells need to be boosted to hit given FOC 4... :/
Elara/Griffon could be made to work, given a fair bit of luck, I guess... haven't really looked at the others... -_-

No solos can't join units, but some give bounuses to units. The low focus does make offensive spells a bit of long shot unless you boost, which leaves no focus for jacks.
Can't see elra doing much as most of skill mean she has to close to the enemy, and will get battered!
I am very tempted with the menoth one, I can see a few possibilities and its not the collosal option that read about on the internet (which sounds like a bad idea to me).

Yeah... her ranged magic attack is not really enough to do much damage and she needs to boost to hit in most cases.
With close combat I think it's only really useful against infantry... upkeep Counter Charge, Griffon countercharges. Next activation, Elara whacks a couple, since she has enough focus to boost to attack and against most units, her weapon's fairly respectable. Siphon the focus off to the Griffon, it finishes the unit off... *shrug* As a say, need some luck to use and it's pretty much useless against everything else other than grunts.
And people think Colossals go well with journeymen?! o.O

You will have to be quite lucky to pull that off.
I can see the idea of casting the jack spell on the colossal , upkeeping it and giving it 3 focus a turn, but do you want a 20 point model being controlled by a medium def, medium arm 5 hit boxmodel? I'll pass thanks.

Yeah... very situational and contingent on Elara killing stuff... which she's not really good at, I don't think, for all she's a little less squishy than other journeymen... *shrug*
And yeah... good point... -_-
...
On a separate note... why doesn't Eiryss3 have Phantom Hunter?! ¬_¬

D'awww!!
The non-character Mage Hunter Commanders have Phantom Seeker/Hunter, so it seems a little odd that she's the one crocked with needing LoS...!! Heh!
Still, Arcane Hemorrage... nasty piece of work...
But I wanna ignore LoS like the rest of my elves can!! ^^;

So you want your cake and be able to eat it? LOL. But I see what your saying, it is strange, but a could make a bit overpowered (your not Cryx or Legion you know). And on a side note I wish they had to respect LOS!

Yep!
Given that she has Arcane Assassin & Weapon Master (on everything) as it is, yeah, Phantom Seeker/Hunter would make her ridiculous...
And respect?! What's 'respect'?! =P

Fair enough.
From what I can tell, all 3 are pretty ridiculous, but on the plus side, she burns like everything else ;-)
Its a word.

Eiryss1 is better against WarMachine as most of her abilities/strengths are not that good against Hordes. Eiryss2 is definitely the more balanced, but taking her as a merc (non-Ret) is risky, I think... And Eiryss3 is the fluffiest, back to her roots and all.
But yeah, all three can be very easily AoE'd to death...
...
Smartarse! =P

You make some good points there, the only times I have ever played against her I have gone all out to kill her at the expense of other targets, or just moved away from her... never played Eiryss 3 though.
She burns nicely.
yep!
