I won it in a Beasts of War competition! So out of politeness I had to buy the battle box and few more Jacks and some solos. Will also be getting some units in time...
Yep its COC, The Judicator will be mine, one day oh yes, it will be mine. The question will be can I really be that cheesy and run it Epic Feora?

So do your bit and get buying! I did, its all for the greater good. Now if someone can just explain that to my missus I'd be grateful. Fellas can I broach a thorny subject? If we really want to help the store out we should really be buying the NON sale stuff. If we only buy the stuff at cost it will mean diminished returns for Carlos which means he will have to go through this all again in a couple of months. I will put my hands up and admit I picked up a load of Ogre stuff because the price was too tempting to resist but I also picked up some Reaper bits. As some of you know I have my own shop and clearance sales are primarily a way of clearing shelf space (of example christmas themed toys) for new stock (which will sell). If the stuff we are buying is only helping cover rent and wages etc, that will mean there is very little to invest into new stock which will sell at a profit and allow Carlos to reinvest in the shop. Also any new customers walking into an empty shop are very unlikely to return! sorry to be a kill joy but I want the place to keep going and felt it needed to be pointed out. |

A point well made, however you only have to look at some of the stock over the past year that we have begged the shop to bring in, examples: wave 3 star wars, German FOW, more warmahordes stuff, a decent range of bolt action, saga, all of these things would have been bought at the shop for a price it could have made money on. My only hope is that this is truly a case of "clear the old and make way for the new" Oh and may I mention that the stuff that is heavily discounted is the stuff we would normally buy in time due to the fact these are the games we already play. I for one never did like having to buy FOW stuff elsewhere but after the shop did a fine job of introducing the game to me it took forever to get the stuff in, by which time I had bought it elsewhere, here's hoping!!

Fair point, and as a shop owner you will know better than me what is going on.
I was informed that this was to clear out some stuff and get new bits that will sell hence this will all be for the greater good. I know its a picture perfect view and real life seldom works this way, we buy some stuff, they get new stuff, we buy the new stuff they keep getting new stuff... we get what we want they get rich. But some of the stuff in the shop is very old and probably wouldn't sell at normal price and it takes ages to get new stuff there (at the moment no new stuff at all). So lets hope this gets the shop needs to be or at least moves it in the right direction.
I just really hope this helps and we can still all get together and play the games the we love (except warmahordes, bloody silly game).
