Many moons ago I used to really enjoy an article in White Dwarf magazine (back when it was worth reading) known as ‘A Tale of Four Gamers.’ The basic idea was that four gamers (I guess the clue was in the title) set themselves a modest budget and deadline each month to buy, assemble and paint models. The intention was that within an agreed time they would have built a small force for Warhammer Fantasy Battle (around 1000 points) for the table top. Along the way they would game with the endeavours of their hard work. Having lost my way a little on the gaming and painting side of things lately I guess I need something to motivate me into starting a new project. A Tale of one Gamer sounds a bit lonely (sad!?) though so was wondering if it would appeal to anyone else, looking at other peoples themed armies, paintings, basing, conversions and ideas is always inspiring (I’m looking at you Damon, and yes you do have to paint them!) What do you think?

Definitely!
I need some motivation to get some lizards painted.
We could detail this and set it up on the store Vlog/blog.

I,m up for it, even as we speak I am taking a break from assembling my mantic models. Looking at the models I have and how they can be used for Vampire Counts I have the following
Black knights x 10 = 260pts
Grave Guard x 20 = 250pts
Crypt Ghouls x 10 =110pts
Ii need an excuse to get I these up to 1000pts

I don't know if the Black Knight cavalry come with bases, if not I probably have some in a box somewhere. And I think posting updates would be a great idea Lano.

I recall the Tale of Four Gamers from about 10 years ago . As much as it sounds like fun, I'm afraid that at the moment I am packing up, boxing up and putting stuff in storage pending a move. Hopefully , once I return to normal I can get some painting done, I have fallen behalf and figures. I estimate maybe 600 unpainted figures. And that's after painting maybe 2000 over the past 5 years

Ok so I have delayed it for too long and run out of excuses. After seeing those beastmen yesterday I am inspired to paint a new chaos warrior force for warhammer based around a thousand points. At such a high points cost there shouldn't be too many to paint!

So will you be playing Warriors of Chaos in the up coming campaign, or will the Empire be making a return?

Warriors of Chaos. To help shore up the diminishing profits of Games Workshop I purchased models today. So it begins!
