NECRON TURN 3
Imotekh was now fixated with killing lysander and therefore called in a squad of Deathmarks to finish the job, the rest of the Necron force advanced towards the imperial lines. The Necron shooting did little damage only managing to further wound lysander but not kill him. Combat was also largely ineffectual leaving the Nercrons to face another imperial onslaught.
IMPERIAL TURN 3
The Imperial forces finally launched their counter attack with the arrival of several Dark Angel Ravenwing squads, a Stormtalon Gunship and 2 squads of Storm Troopers, as Grand Master Sammael turned his gaze upon imotekh and his command the stormlord made a gesture and an energy field suurounded him and his command momentarily protecting them from any Imperial retribution. The Imperials opened up with all they had dropping the deathmarks but little else of note. Lysander and the Deathwing Sergeant engaged the necrons warriors close to one of the objectives and it was at this moment that things took a turn for the worse for the Imperial force as Lysander and Yarrick were both bought down, the Deathwing Sergeant ready to sell his life dearly to protect the Imperial Fists Captain, one bit of fortune did occur though as one of the c'tan shards was destroyed.
NECRON TURN 4
With the C'Tan Shard destroyed Imotekh invoked the Anti-C'Tan Protocols and led his squad toward the last remaining imperial warlord, grand master sammael, also with the death of lysander Imotekh finally turned his gaze upon the baneblade and gave a nod as though approving its destruction. The necrons concentrated their firepower on the baneblade scoring several telling hits on it but ultimately leaving it still functioning. The second C'tan Shard made it's way into the heart of the imperial fists defenses engaging the devastators and Imotekh fought an inconclusive combat with sammael and his ravenwing.
IMPERIAL TURN 4
Even Commissar Yarrick could not carry on with the injuries he had suffered and under protest was removed to a place of safety. The imperials had very little to target as the majority of the necron force was engaged in combat, however they did gain a measure of revenge for the wraiths removing Yarrick from the fight by utterly destroying them. The combats still remained inconclusive.
SECOND SCHEDULED BREAK - STRATEGIC VICTORY POINTS
NECRONS 13 - IMPERIUM 6
To be concluded...
