I had an idea for running some scenario game sset in the Lustrian continent for SAGA with battle boards for Elves, Lizardman, exotic tribes, Skaven, Norsemen SAGA The Lustrian Chronicles.doc (61 KB) and greedy old worlders. Anyone tempted? If anyone has any IT skills and would be up for making the battleboards look decent it woudl be appreciated . I've attached a sampler to give an idea. |

Thanks Mr2key, can you think up some designs for the common, uncommon and rare abilities?
Ok to do:
Amazons ( thinking similiar to Welsh)
Undead ( tar pit force)
Skaven ( seanky, fast, designed to gang up on lone units- some infiltration-ambush)
Dark Elves ( not sure, Witch Elves as Berzerkers i.e Armour 3 BUt 4 Attacks, maybe some reperater crossbows)
Then sceanrios. thinking
Looting for anicent tech
poisen the spawning pool
Raid the floating Ziggurat

What about pygmy boar riders as hearth guard? Just a thought as they are available from Kallistra and seem easy to get hold of if anyone was so inclined. Ok I admit it I want to get some but need an excuse!!

Ok, a unit of Hearthgaurd may ride Boars ( MvL) simples.
I was at Warfare in Reading today, they had some old Citadel stuff at the bring and buy, I picked up Chainsaw Warrior

Kallistra here I come! I have a vague recollection that Chainsaw Warrior was a solo endeavour but never played it. Apparently it is being re released as an APP or something for the Ipad.

really like the board and concept. saw a battle report online where they used isengard uruk as vikings vs rohan as byzantium, seemed to work really well.
it would be easy to work out the symbols for the dice as well. just bought 10 blank dice for less then £3 inc post so it would be no big deal to make the dice.

brilliant stuff Riot- I thought that we could maybe colour coide the ability dice, say red for rare, blue for common and green for uncommon, that way we could just stik on a colour sticker and not need to make up symbols. Russell and Damon gave me some ideas and voila a n undead battle board, this one has the ability to sustain more fatigue and can regnerate BUT, the board offers little in the way of combat upgrades so you need to use attrition and the baility to ressurect your fighters to wear out your opponant/ Any thoughts on the boards, so far nothing has been tested so some of the boards may afford btter synergies than others . Do not want to tread on toes but can i introduce another faction. Basically their uruks but you can call them what you want. Saruman or Lurtz as warlord Troll as Elite (with 4 wounds) Berserkers as Elite (same as viking berserkers) Pike as warriors Sword uruks as warriors Cross bows as warriors Orcs or uruk scouts as levy (bows or hand weapons) Basically they are vikings with the same battle board (with minor changes) that ramps up their aggression and cancels fatigue to show their great cardio.  |

I'm happy to give that a try.
I picked up the sticky labels so can do some quick dice for saga abilities.
-I think I could use something to ramp up my aggresion and cardio - I've been spawled out watching Cities of Gold and Citizen Khan all weekend.

How about Dec 20 as fantasy Saga night. 4point warbands with a view to testing out the battleboards .
I have a suitable painted Estalian set , I have High Elves , though not paainted
