Thegmann, looking at the first column of the undead board there is no dice list for the activations of levies, warriors etc. Does this mean any dice activate any units, or are they the same as other Saga units?

Well spotted, I just realised that I've made the same mistake on the other boards. The idea is that all the unit activation dice are the same . Right I've updated the lists to refelct the fact that I got the activation dice wrong, this also brings the Skaven and Vampires into the same file.

Hey guys I hope you've all had a good 2013! And a good new year!
As mike said we had a quick play test, but the lizardmen board definitely needs a look over. Compared to the Vikings board, the lizards board is a lot harder to activate, as in the Remorseless Killers board is redundant as the Vikings have exactly the same ability, with less dice needed and easier to accomplish since they don't have the casualties restriction.
Also the three abilities which are used depending on which war lord you take can be altered, having spoke to Mike and Damon, they should be dual purpose, since taking a Saurus Warlord automatically reduces you Saga Abilities by 2 putting you at a disadvantage. The abilities overall are very good, but the boards we have made from scratch need to be revised a fair bit, in my opinion it would be easier to assign all new war bands to an existing board and then gradually alter it. Would probably save us a lot if time in writing and play testing a handful of alterations instead of a completely new battle board.

I will bring along a 4 point force on Friday and see what happens. Can't comment on the Pygmy board as I am still unfamiliar with the rules (would like to see Boar Riders as an option if at all possible though, Hearth guard perhaps?)

The Ptgmy list allows hearthguard to be mounted - up to you what you want them to ride, boars, ponies or jungle ctas .
Laino- You make some good points which are worth considering. I'm hapy for you gus to adapt and fine tune the Fantsay SAGA to ssuit personal prefferances.

Sorry, the pygmies failed to turn up! Family dropped in unannounced (rude!) and I had to cancel at the last minute. Gutted, as I was really looking forward to a game but they shall be making an appearance very soon.

On another note my undead did fine, played lanos lizard men and won! My board seems to be very well balanced so far, however I couldn't field enough levies to have the fun that I wanted. Need some skellies! The lizard men board does need tweaking though, activations seemed to be a problem and combinations of powers/abilities seemed underpowered!

well if Lano is the only one playing lizards I do not think that is a problem after the spankings I take playing against his everblight would be interested playing my Vuruks against your undead next week if your up for it Macca?

I have Estalians ( painted ) which I can bring down , interesting to see estallian steel works againsts bone.
Does anyone have any suggestions about beefing up or improving the activation ability of the lizardmen, I had envisioned them as having fast, sneaky skinks and slow grinding lsuarus BUT if two game shav eshoiwn that the Lizards are not hard enough something needs to be added. Interesting to see how the Undead worked as they were designed as a erelentless attrion faction, but one which lacked much in the way of combat optimisation
